Workplace Skin Surveillance

We also offer an on site skin surveillance service, which is fully compliant with the Health Surveillance requirements of the COSHH regulations for products labelled R43 - 'may cause sensitisation by skn contact'.

Repeated exposure to certain susbtances or skin irritation can lead to dermatitis.  If the signs are detected early enough and corrective action is taken then the problem can be reduced or cured completely.  However, if left untreated then the dermatitis can become irreversible and exposure to even a small amount of the problem substance can trigger a bad reaction.

Substances that can cause Occupational Dermatitis are:

Epoxy Resins
Latex
Rubber Chemicals
Soaps and cleaners
Metalwroking fluids
Cement
Enzymes
Wood
Wet work

A typical assessment typically takes 15 - 20 minutes per person.  This includes a review of a questionnaire (to be completed by each individual), the examination itself and advice on skin care.

This is one of a number of HSE / COSHH compliant medicals that we can perform on site.
