Additional paternity leave
The right to additional paternity leave is now available to parents of babies due on or after 3 April 2011, and to adoptive parents notified of their match for adoption on or after that date.

New rates of statutory maternity pay and sick pay announced

The Minister of State for the Department for Work and Pensions has announced the proposed rates for statutory sick pay and statutory maternity, paternity and adoption pay for 2011.  The changes are expected to come into force on 11 April 2011.

 
  • Statutory Maternity, Paternity and Adoption Pay and Maternity Allowance will increase from £124.88 to £128.73; and
  • Statutory Sick Pay will increase from £79.15 to £81.60.
