Employment legislation is always changing. Below is an overview of new laws that employers can expect to see over the coming months.
Employment Tribunals - whistleblowing - April 2010 - now in force
Whistleblowing Claimant's can now tick a box on their Claim Form (ET1) to indicate whether they want the Tribunal to pass on any allegations relating to a protected disclosure.
Agency Workers Regulations 2010 - October 2011
Will provide all agency workers with the right to equal treatment compared with their directly recruited counterparts after 12 weeks in a job.
Extra bank holiday - June 2012
The Queen's Diamond Jubilee will be marked with an additional bank holiday.
Parental rights - 2011 / 2012
Increase in parental leave from three to four months.
Flexible Working - 2011
Proposed extension of right to request flexible working to all employees.
